Eligibility & Admission Criteria

Eligibility & Admission Criteria

Admission to Karmel International School is offered on the basis of age eligibility, learning readiness and seat availability, and follows a fair, transparent and inclusive policy. In keeping with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and its 5+3+3+4 structure, entry ages are aligned to each developmental stage. Please refer to the class-wise age criteria below to find the right entry point for your child for the 2026-27 session.

Eligibility Requirements
  • Eligibility is based on the following. Age: The child must have attained the minimum age for the class sought as on [cut-off date, e.g. 31 March 2026] — Nursery [3] years, LKG [4], UKG [5], Class I [6], with corresponding ages for higher classes.
  • Educational readiness: An academic foundation appropriate to the grade.
  • Previous Academic Record: report cards for admission to Class [I] and above.
  • Good Conduct: A positive disposition and respect for our shared values. (Age bands follow the NEP 2020 5+3+3+4 structure.)
Required Documents

A couple of documents help us confirm your child’s eligibility — mainly the birth certificate (for age) and, for older children, previous report cards and a Transfer Certificate from their current school. You will also need Aadhaar and a few photographs. The full checklist lives on our Admission Information & Process page, and our team is always happy to walk you through it.
